About Family Resource Networks…

The Greater Foothills Family Resource Network is dedicated to helping local families through the organization of free programs, supports, and services for youth 0-18 as well as their parents or caregivers.

Family Resource Networks (FRNs) deliver prevention and early intervention services, as well as a range of supports that focus on strengthening parenting and caregiving knowledge, social supports and resources, improving child and youth development, building resiliency and fostering well-being.

Through a 'hub and spoke' model of service delivery, Networks (hubs) will coordinate these services in all geographic areas and in various cultural communities across the province. These services will be offered directly by the network, or through collaborative partnerships with qualified service agencies or Partner Programs (spokes).

Program information and referrals to any of our programs can be made through the Hub by phone, email or in person. Families can also access the programs and supports directly through our Network partners.

Partner Programs

The Greater Foothills Family Resource Network offers a range of programs and services for children & youth 0-18 years and their families through our Spoke Partners that focus on building resilience and fostering well-being.

BGC Foothills- Youth Resource Centre

BGC Foothills Clubs provide programs and services for Youth 13-18 years through the Youth Resource Centre that include programming for youth that supports and focuses on building protective factors and prevents the development of risk factors and vulnerabilities. Programs include, Lead UP!, Flex Your Head, Project Backpack, Raise the Grade, and Keystone.

Claresholm FCSS

Claresholm Outreach operates a resource and referral office where vulnerable families are assisted in navigating service systems and accessing resources and help in times of need.

Foothills Community Counselling

Foothills Community Counselling provides counselling services for children, youth and families. Referrals can be made through our Greater Foothills Family Resource Network Hub

Greater Foothills Family Centre

Our Family Centre provides a variety of programs and services for families with children 0-12 years that promote a child's social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual well-being as well as parenting and family support programs for families with children 0-18 years throughout our Network area.

Rainbow Literacy & Learning Society

Rainbow Literacy & Learning Society provides parenting and development promoting programs such as Alphabet Soup, Animal Tales, BASIS, Books for Babies, Building Blocks, Mentoring, LAPS, Pillowslip Stories, and Time for Rhymes.

Wild Rose Community Connections

Wild Rose Community Connections provides Home Visitation through their First Years For Families Program. Trained Home Visitors provide families with information and support to help improve their parenting skills and provide a safe, nurturing environment for their children. Participation in Home Visitation programs is voluntary.

The Town of High River was awarded the Provincial contract for Family Resource Networks in 2020 and is honoured to serve as the Hub for the Greater Foothills Family Resource Network. By supporting early intervention and prevention programs, we are demonstrating our commitment to ensure that families have access to the programs and supports they need on their parenting journey to raise healthy and resilient families

Land Acknowledgement
